Osler, Hoskin & Harcourt LLP is a national business law firm headquartered in Toronto, with additional Canadian offices in Montreal, Calgary, Ottawa, and Vancouver, plus a New York office for cross border work. The firm traces its roots back more than 160 years, to a partnership founded in 1862 by Britton Bath Osler, and after a period practising as McCarthy, Osler, Hoskin and Creelman, the firm settled on its current name by 1916. Britton Bath Osler's brothers were also notable: Sir William Osler helped found Johns Hopkins Hospital as one of its four founding professors, and Edmund Boyd Osler served as an early president of the Dominion Bank, now part of TD.

Today the firm has grown to more than 500 lawyers working across more than 40 service areas, from mergers and acquisitions and capital markets to tax, employment, and dispute resolution. It's one of a small group of long established Toronto firms sometimes called the Seven Sisters. In 1968, Osler became the first large Canadian corporate law firm to make a woman a partner. That lawyer had joined the firm in 1959, later becoming the first woman appointed to the Ontario Court of Appeal and then to the Supreme Court of Canada.
