How This Directory Is Built
LawOnline.ca Canadian Legal Directory is a free, public directory of Canadian law firms and lawyers. This page explains where our information comes from and — just as importantly — what we do and don't do with it.
Where our data comes from
Our listings are compiled from publicly available sources, primarily law firms' own public websites and public business listings. We display professional and business information only: firm names, office locations, business phone numbers, practice areas, and the biographies that lawyers and firms publish about themselves.
Where licensing matters, we link directly to the relevant provincial law society's official directory rather than reproducing it, so you always see the authoritative, up-to-date record straight from the regulator.
What we do not do
- We do not sell this data.
- We do not use it for marketing or outreach. We don't contact the firms or lawyers listed here to solicit business, and we never add anyone in this directory to a mailing or sales list.
- We do not harvest email addresses for commercial messaging.
This directory exists to help the public find Canadian legal professionals. That's it.
Accuracy
We compile this information on a best-effort basis and refresh it periodically, so some details may be out of date. Nothing here is legal advice, and a listing is not an endorsement. Always confirm a lawyer's current standing with their provincial law society before relying on it.
Corrections, claims, and removal
If you're a listed lawyer or firm and want to correct your information, claim your profile, or be removed, use our submission form or email us at [email protected]. We honour removal requests promptly.
