About Bavia
Bavia Bisetty is a partner in Osler's Real Estate practice, working between the firm's Vancouver and Calgary offices with a focus on Western Canadian commercial real estate. Having practised at major firms in Vancouver, Toronto and Calgary, she brings a national perspective to transactions across the country. Her work touches nearly every aspect of commercial real estate, from acquisitions, dispositions and leasing to infrastructure and public-private partnership projects, development, financing and joint ventures, along with environmental issues tied to contaminated sites. Bisetty represents pension funds, REITs and private investors buying, selling, financing and developing office, retail and industrial properties, and advises owners and investment managers on ongoing asset management. She has also handled numerous commercial leasing matters, including ground leases on First Nations land, acting for both landlords and tenants. Bisetty holds a law degree from the University of KwaZulu-Natal in South Africa, qualified to practise in Canada through the National Committee on Accreditation process, and later completed a mining law program at Osgoode Hall Law School.
