About SV Law

SV Law is a full-service law firm based in Guelph, with additional offices in Elora and the Waterloo Region. It's served the Guelph area since the 1960s. The firm grew out of the Smith and Valeriote practices, which came together as SmithValeriote Law Firm LLP and took the shorter SV Law name in 2018.

Today it's one of the larger firms in the area, with more than forty lawyers. Its work covers business, real estate, family, wills and estates, and litigation, along with employment, construction, condominium, and municipal and land development law. It also practises farm law, which is a natural fit for a firm rooted in Guelph and Wellington County, one of Ontario's strongest agricultural regions.

The neighbourhood

SV Law's Guelph head office sits in the Hanlon Creek Business Park, a modern office park in the city's south end built alongside the Hanlon Expressway (Highway 6). That puts it about five minutes from Highway 401, so it's easy to reach for clients coming from Kitchener-Waterloo, Hamilton, and the Greater Toronto Area.

For matters that go to court, Guelph's Superior Court of Justice at 74 Woolwich Street is a short drive north in the downtown. The Ontario Court of Justice, which handles criminal matters, is nearby at 36 Wyndham Street South.
