About Chris

Chris Manning practises exclusively in SV Law's Municipal and Planning Law group out of the Waterloo office, advising public and private sector clients before the Ontario Land Tribunal. He was called to the bar in 2020 after earlier practising municipal and planning law at a full-service Waterloo firm, and advises on development, site plan, and subdivision agreements, by-law drafting, development charges, aggregate and heritage matters, drainage and stormwater issues, road matters, and historical title issues, as well as expropriation proceedings. Before law, Chris swam competitively, earning a scholarship to Auburn University and finishing his undergraduate degree at the University of Toronto, where he helped lead the Varsity Blues to a national championship; he was also a member of Canada's national swim team. He earned his J.D. from the University of New Brunswick in 2019 and now coaches with Special Olympics Brantford and volunteers with Trout Unlimited Canada.
