About Trenton

Trenton Johnson is a litigation lawyer at SV Law working out of the firm's Guelph and Waterloo offices, with a practice spanning litigation, construction law, farm law, municipal and land development matters, and wills and estates. Before joining SV Law, he spent more than sixteen years as a partner at a national law firm, appearing before courts across Ontario. He regularly appears before the Superior Court of Justice, the Divisional Court and the Ontario Court of Appeal, and he has extensive experience with judicial review applications and appearances before tribunals such as the Ontario Land Tribunal and the Normal Farm Practices Protection Board. His work covers estate litigation, municipal and planning disputes, construction disputes, and corporate conflicts involving shareholders and directors. Trenton holds an LLB from the University of Windsor and a JD from the University of Detroit Mercy, both earned in 2004, and he was called to the bar in 2005. He has been recognized by The Best Lawyers in Canada for Corporate and Commercial Litigation from 2021 to 2026.
