About Spencer Walker

Spencer Walker is a business lawyer at SV Law, based in the Guelph office as part of the firm's Business Law Practice Group. Walker can practise on both sides of the border, with admissions to the Ontario bar and the New York State bar, both in 2023.

Sport runs through Walker's path into law. The undergraduate degree, from Brock University, was in sport management, and law school followed right away through the Dual Degree program linking the University of Windsor with Detroit Mercy School of Law, so the Canadian and American JDs were earned at the same time. Once articles at SV Law were done, Walker spent time with the Sport Dispute Resolution Centre of Canada in the Office of the Sport Integrity Commissioner, helping that office carry out its mandate on maltreatment matters among participants in national sport organizations such as Hockey Canada.

Walker's goal is to put that blend of sport and law to meaningful use for businesses and individuals alike. Outside work, you'll find Walker at the gym or on the firm's softball team, and spending time with family, friends and Henny, an energetic Goldendoodle.
