Singleton Reynolds, formally Singleton Urquhart Reynolds Vogel LLP, is a law firm with offices in Vancouver and Toronto that has practiced construction and infrastructure law since 1982. John Singleton founded the firm in Vancouver that year as Singleton & Co., a practice built around defending architects and engineers. Glenn Urquhart and a construction litigation team joined in 1986, giving the firm the Singleton Urquhart name it carried through further changes as A.W. MacDonald joined in 1989 and Loren Scott's team joined in 1996. In January 2018, after almost four decades based in Vancouver, the firm opened a Toronto office and became Singleton Urquhart Reynolds Vogel LLP when Bruce Reynolds and Sharon Vogel, both previously recognized for their work reforming Ontario's Construction Lien Act, joined the national platform.
The firm's practice today centers on construction and infrastructure, insurance, and commercial real estate, alongside commercial litigation, corporate commercial work, employment and labour, professional and product liability, business immigration, wills and estates, and a niche entertainment law practice serving clients in film, television, and music. Benchmark Litigation has named the firm Construction Law Firm of the Year on multiple occasions, and Lexpert's 2026 legal directory placed it in its highest ranking tier, Most Frequently Recommended, for construction law in both Toronto and Vancouver.
Wheelchair accessibleThe Toronto office sits in the Sun Life Centre at 150 King Street West, a 28 storey tower built in 1984 at the corner of King and University in the heart of the Financial District. Sun Life Financial used the building as its headquarters until it moved to One York in 2017, and the tower still connects directly to the underground PATH network and St. Andrew subway station, handy for a litigation practice whose lawyers regularly move between courts across the Greater Toronto Area.
The firm's roots, though, are in Vancouver, where it still operates from Cathedral Place at 925 West Georgia Street, built on the site of the demolished Georgia Medical Dental Building, once known as Vancouver's first Art Deco skyscraper. The older building's 1989 implosion helped push the city toward stricter heritage preservation rules.
