When a matter needs an advocate, Mark appears regularly before the Ontario Labour Relations Board, the Human Rights Tribunal of Ontario and the Superior Court of Justice. Called to the Ontario bar in 2019, Mark was an associate at Filion in 2020 and a senior associate by early 2025 before becoming a partner.

Employers also hear from Mark outside the hearing room. Canadian HR Reporter has asked for Mark's take on how a seller's years of service count toward reasonable notice when a buyer rehires the staff (2020) and on when a long-running remote work setup quietly becomes part of the job (2025). Mark co-authors a Thomson Reuters quick reference on PIPEDA, the federal privacy statute, and writes and presents often for Filion's client insights and seminars.

The pull toward advocacy started at Western Law. As a student, Mark took on files as an associate caseworker at Community Legal Services in London, served on the executive of the Labour & Employment Law Society and helped welcome new students as an orientation leader. Mooting was a big part of those years too: Mark finished among the top finalists of a national competition and was recognized there for written advocacy.
