About Aman Atwal

Aman Atwal is an associate in the London office of Filion Wakely Thorup Angeletti LLP, with a practice that reaches into every corner of labour and employment law. Employers in the private and public sectors, across many different industries, have turned to Aman for advice. What draws Aman to workplace law is its human side and the working relationships it builds. Aman works closely with clients to understand the particular challenges they face, then develops tailored solutions to fit them.

Aman's first call to the bar was in British Columbia, in 2024, and Aman practised workplace law there as an associate with Harris & Company LLP. The Ontario call followed in 2025. Client work came early: a University of Victoria co-op placement meant a summer at the Office of the Ombudsperson of BC, where Aman sharpened client service skills, and another summer was spent at a Victoria firm doing personal injury and wills and estates work.

In March 2026 Aman wrote an article for the firm that walked through two Ontario Court of Appeal decisions that set out when back-to-work legislation can be justified under the Charter's freedom of association. The next day, Aman was one of four Filion presenters at a hybrid HR seminar in London, run with the Southwest chapter of the Human Resources Professionals Association.

Leadership and community have been a thread since law school at UVic. Aman served the Law Students' Society as 1L Representative, as Vice-President of Student Affairs and as President, co-founded the South Asian Law Students' Association to build representation, advocacy and connection for South Asian students, and competed in the Canadian Client Consultation Competition. In 2023 Aman received the Christopher Barran Memorial Fund award, which recognizes a student's outstanding contribution to the law school. In 2024 Aman's memberships included the Federation of Asian Canadian Lawyers and the South Asian Bar Association in BC.
