About Ruthie

Ruthie Wellen is an associate at Kastner Ko LLP focused on employment law, union-side labour matters, human rights, and civil litigation. She counsels and represents employees and trade unions on issues such as wrongful and constructive dismissal, human rights complaints, workplace harassment investigations, contract negotiation issues, grievance arbitrations, and applications before the OLRB. She frequently appears in front of courts, tribunals, and arbitrators across the province on behalf of her clients. She earned her law degree from Osgoode Hall Law School and completed an Honours B.A. in Sociology at McGill University. Prior to joining the firm, she articled and worked a summer term at the Ontario Ministry of Labour, and gained clinical experience through placements with Parkdale Community Legal Services and the Osgoode Hall Innocence Project.
