About Spencer

Spencer Knibutat advises private and public sector employers on all aspects of labour and employment law, including collective bargaining, hiring and termination, workplace investigations, employment contracts and policies, and wrongful dismissal defence. He has developed particular expertise in privacy and access to information law, drafting policies, privacy impact assessments and breach response protocols, and assisting clients with freedom of information requests and appeals to privacy commissioners. Before joining the firm, he worked as an associate at a management-side labour and employment boutique in Ottawa. Knibutat holds certifications as a Certified Information Privacy Professional and Certified Information Privacy Manager, earned his JD from Queen's University and a science degree from the University of Toronto, and was called to the Ontario bar in 2020.
