About Sophie

Sophie Abbatt acts for provincial and federal trade unions in both the public and private sectors, focusing on employment, labour, and human rights law. Her interest in advocacy began during her undergraduate years working at a sexual assault centre in Montreal, and it deepened in law school through her time at Parkdale Community Legal Services, where she helped non-unionized workers with Employment Standards Act violations, wrongful dismissal claims, and human rights complaints. She continues that work today by volunteering with the Workers' Action Centre. Before starting law school, Sophie taught photography composition and camera basics to children at a summer camp.
