About John
John Hyde is a labour and employment lawyer at Hyde HR Law, certified by the Law Society of Ontario as a Specialist in Labour Law and one of only 17 lawyers in Canada to hold that certification. He advises management on employment and labour law matters, including tribunal representation, collective agreement negotiation, arbitrations, wrongful dismissal defence and human rights issues, and assists clients navigating labour and employment questions arising from mergers and acquisitions. His pre-law background in transportation industry operations and human resources shapes his practical approach to legal solutions. He has built recognized sub-practices in transportation and construction labour relations, and has written articles and presented seminars on employment law topics. John was called to the bar in 1993 after earning both Canadian and American law degrees, and holds an Honours B.A. and M.A. from the University of Guelph.
