About Peter
Peter Swanson is a founding partner of Bernard LLP with over 35 years of professional legal experience, practising primarily in maritime and health law. His maritime work covers carriage of goods by sea, ship-source pollution liability, collisions, chartering disputes, maritime lien enforcement, ship arrest and sale, and casualty investigations, while his health law practice assists health care professionals with regulatory and disciplinary matters before their governing bodies. He has appeared before courts at every level in BC and federally, up to the Supreme Court of Canada, and before tribunals including the Health Professions Review Board and the Workers' Compensation Appeal Tribunal. Peter is an Adjunct Professor co-teaching maritime law at UBC's Peter A. Allard School of Law and was called to the Bar of British Columbia in 1988.
