About David
David Jarrett practices in maritime and transportation law, insurance defence, product liability, and civil and commercial litigation, with experience in vessel arrest, collision, pollution, cargo, and defending auto manufacturers in product liability claims. He has handled on-board emergency response matters with regulators including the Transportation Safety Board and the US Coast Guard, and has appeared before the Federal Court, BC and Alberta courts. Before joining Bernard LLP in 2010, David was a judicial law clerk with the Alberta Court of Appeal and practised general commercial litigation at Brownlee LLP in Edmonton. He was called to the Bar of Alberta in 2008 and the Bar of British Columbia in 2010, and chaired the Canadian Bar Association's National Maritime Law Section from 2023 to 2024.
