About Krista Potter

Krista Potter is an associate in the Ottawa office of Burn Tucker Lachaîne, where the work is about injury and disability claims. Krista's files take in accident benefits disputes, motor vehicle collisions and slip and fall cases, along with long-term disability claims and Canada Pension Plan disability appeals. All of it can be done in French or in English, so clients can use whichever language suits them.

Krista aims to build a strong rapport with clients and to work with the team to move each file efficiently through the stages of litigation. Krista also writes about this area of law. For the Ontario Trial Lawyers Association's newsroom, Krista summarized a 2026 Licence Appeal Tribunal reconsideration for a cyclist who'd been refused attendant care benefits, and the firm's own blog carries Krista's pieces on the duty to mitigate, general damages and winter falls.

Krista grew up in Sudbury and studied Droit et justice at Laurentian University before heading to New Brunswick for a J.D. from the Université de Moncton in 2021. The Ontario call followed in 2022, and a year later Krista came to Burn Tucker Lachaîne.

Away from the office, Krista sits on the board of Pathways to Independence, which supports people living with brain injuries and developmental disabilities, and volunteers as a pro bono lawyer through Law Help Ontario. Free time goes to live sports, music festivals and travel, plus plenty of time with family and friends.
