Both of Éliane's degrees come from the University of Ottawa, a social sciences B.A. first and then an LL.B. Éliane articled with a local firm over 2004 and 2005, was called to the Ontario bar in 2005, and kept working there as an associate until 2013, mostly on personal injury files. In 2014 Éliane co-founded the current firm with Colleen Burn and Laurie Tucker.
In 2018 Éliane was counsel for the Cadieux family before a five-judge panel of the Court of Appeal for Ontario, in an appeal about how accident benefits paid before trial come off a damages award. Éliane also taught trial advocacy in the University of Ottawa's common law program in fall 2017, has spoken for OTLA, the OBA, the County of Carleton Law Association and the Law Society of Ontario, and has co-chaired AJEFO's yearly French-language advocacy workshops since 2015.
Outside the office, Éliane climbs rock and ice, runs trails, and has finished several marathons and triathlons. Éliane has also given years of volunteer time to two francophone support centres in Ottawa, and has done pro bono legal work through REACH Canada and Law Help Ontario since 2011.

Éliane handles car crash claims and has presented on deducting accident benefits for AJEFO (Sudbury, 2019) and on collateral benefits in a 2023 OTLA webinar, and has written about OPCF 44R family protection coverage in Ontario.
Fatality claims
Éliane acts on fatality and wrongful death claims. In 2015 Éliane negotiated a settlement with the City of Ottawa for the family of one of the six people who died when an OC Transpo bus and a VIA Rail train collided in Barrhaven.

Éliane Lachaîne and Allan Rouben acted for the plaintiffs, Chad Cadieux (by litigation guardian Michael Cadieux) and Michael and Lance Cadieux, in an appeal about deducting statutory accident benefits paid before trial from a tort damages award. Sitting as a five-judge panel, the court affirmed the silo approach to deducting and assigning those benefits and allowed the appeal and the cross-appeal in part; in 2019 the Supreme Court of Canada dismissed the family's application for leave to appeal.
