Burn Tucker Lachaîne pursues accident benefits claims to the fullest. A part-time consultant with more than 30 years in accident benefits helps its lawyers, clerks and clients with every part of those claims. Partner Laurie Tucker persuaded the Licence Appeal Tribunal to reconsider its decision and approve attendant care benefits for a person who survived a car crash.
Its disability team represents clients across the country, including people with conditions that are often hard to prove, from mental health conditions and chronic pain to Long Covid and other post viral syndromes. It also takes on denied claims under HOODIP, the plan for healthcare workers, and under CAF/SISIP coverage for Canadian Armed Forces members.
Life insurance cases in Ontario and elsewhere in Canada are handled by its litigation lawyers, and the team also challenges denied critical illness, accidental death and dismemberment, and long-term care claims. Not every gap in disclosure on an insurance application is material to the risk the insurer took on, and the lawyers know where to get the underwriting evidence needed to dispute that kind of denial. When a claim's been refused over errors in the insured person's application, they'll explore compensation from both the insurer and the agent the insured person relied on to protect their interests.

Free consultationThe Law Society of Ontario requires lawyers who offer contingency retainers to publish their maximum fee percentage.
