Jaime Burnet

About Jaime

Jaime Burnet practices labour, employment, professional regulation, and human rights law, bringing an intersectional feminist and trauma-informed approach to her work. She facilitates training on preventing and responding to sexual and gender-based harassment in the workplace and on creating inclusive workplaces for 2SLGBTQIA+ people. She has appeared before labour arbitrators, labour standards adjudicators, the Nova Scotia Supreme Court and Court of Appeal, and a public commission of inquiry. Jaime earned her law degree from the Schulich School of Law at Dalhousie University after completing an M.A. in Women and Gender Studies and Sexual Diversity Studies at the University of Toronto. She is the former Chair of the Canadian Bar Association Nova Scotia's Sexual Orientation and Gender Identity Community section. She was called to the Nova Scotia bar in 2017.
