About Bettina

Bettina Quistgaard has practiced labour, employment, pension, and employee benefits law since relocating from Toronto to Halifax and joining Pink Larkin in 1996, with her work also extending to human rights and administrative law. She has appeared before all levels of court in Nova Scotia and has extensive experience with administrative tribunals in Nova Scotia, Newfoundland and Labrador, and New Brunswick, as well as before the Canada Industrial Relations Board. She advises pension and benefit plan sponsors, trustees, administrators, unions, and members on employer-sponsored and multi-employer plans, and represents unions and pension plan administrators in insolvency proceedings under the Bankruptcy and Insolvency Act and the Companies' Creditors Arrangement Act. She previously chaired the Labour and Employment Law Section of the Canadian Bar Association of Nova Scotia and is a frequent conference speaker. She earned her LL.B. from the University of Toronto and was called to the Ontario bar in 1996 and the Nova Scotia bar in 1997.
