About Carl
Carl Peterson is a partner at the firm and has practiced across all areas of labour law since his 1984 call to the bar. He has developed particular strength in construction industry matters and defending employers against health and safety charges. Beyond litigation, he builds policies and runs seminars to help employers prevent workplace accidents and reduce their exposure to claims. He supports both unionized and non-unionized employers in fostering better employee relations and rolling out empowerment initiatives, often drafting the underlying policies himself. Carl also counsels businesses on the legal questions that arise around independent contractors and outsourcing arrangements. He is a frequent speaker on construction, workplace safety, employment standards, and outsourcing topics, and has written widely on these subjects.
