About W.

W. Ormond Murphy's practice at Tierney Stauffer LLP covers estates, trusts, wills, powers of attorney, and guardianship, with an emphasis on mediated and litigated disputes. He has represented individuals, trust companies, and the Ontario Offices of the Children's Lawyer and the Public Guardian and Trustee, working out of the firm's Ottawa office. He is a past president of the County of Carleton Law Association and of the Thousand Islands' Association of Gananoque, Ontario and Alexandria Bay, New York, and has served as East Region Director, Treasurer, and past chair of the County and District Law Presidents' Association. Orm has been a guest lecturer for the Law Society of Ontario's Bar Admission Course, Carleton University, the University of Ottawa Law School, and the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners, and has prepared papers for the Law Society of Ontario and the Ontario Bar Association. He holds a B.A. (1972) and an LL.B. (1975), both from Queen's University, and is a member of the Law Society of Ontario, the County of Carleton Law Association, The Advocates' Society, the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners, the Ontario Bar Association, and the Canadian Bar Association.
