About Susan
Susan Philpott is a partner who helps trade unions understand and expand workplace pension and benefits coverage, bargain new arrangements, gain a role in plan governance, and navigate employer insolvencies and restructurings. She also advises pension plan trustees on their legal and statutory compliance obligations. Sue's high profile matters include the National Hockey League players' pension plan and the Laurentian University, Nortel Networks, Air Canada and Target Canada insolvency proceedings. She is a former president of the Canadian Association of Labour Lawyers and currently chairs the Canadian Bar Association's National Pension and Benefits Section. Sue graduated from Queen's University Faculty of Law and was called to the Ontario bar in 1990 and the British Columbia bar in 2013.
