About Marcela
Marcela Ahumada is a partner at Lacy Naster LLP practising criminal and regulatory law. She represents clients facing criminal and quasi-criminal charges, including professional misconduct allegations, and handles both trials and appeals. Marcela has argued cases at every level of court in Canada, including the Supreme Court of Canada, the Ontario Court of Appeal, and the Divisional Court. Before joining the firm, she practised at a litigation boutique focused on criminal trials and regulatory matters under the Police Services Act. She holds an Honours B.A. in Criminology from Western University (2014), a Master's in Criminology and Criminal Justice Policy from the University of Guelph (2016), and a Juris Doctor from Osgoode Hall Law School (2019), where she received a distinguished oralist award and competed in the Gale Cup Moot. Marcela is active with the Criminal Lawyers' Association, including its Recent Call Committee, and is fluent in Spanish.
