About Michael

Michael Murphy is a senior associate practicing securities law, with an emphasis on domestic and cross-border securities offerings and Canadian securities regulation. He has represented both issuers and investment banks across a range of public equity and debt offerings and private placements, and he regularly advises public company clients on regulatory compliance and disclosure matters. Before joining Torys, Michael interned with a former MPP and worked as a student border services officer with the Canada Border Services Agency. In law school, he was an editor for the Law Review Journal, a teaching assistant at the Rotman School of Management, and a caseworker for Downtown Legal Services. Michael continues to volunteer with the Law in Action Within Schools mentoring program.
