About Ronke
Ronke Akinyemi is a senior associate at Torys with a broad litigation practice focused on complex commercial disputes, investigations, and public and administrative law. She represents financial institutions, Indigenous communities, crown agencies, and companies in the technology and telecommunications sectors, and has handled trials and arbitrations covering business torts, defamation, competition law, shareholder disputes, breach of contract, conflict of laws, and constitutional and Charter issues. Before joining Torys, she worked as an associate at a Toronto litigation boutique and served as Commission Counsel to the Mass Casualty Commission, the joint federal-provincial inquiry into the April 2020 mass casualty event in Nova Scotia; she also worked as a legal researcher and fact checker for the Long-Term Care COVID-19 Commission. Ronke sits on the Ontario Bar Association Council representing the Toronto region and speaks regularly at OBA professional development programs. She graduated as gold medalist from Osgoode Hall Law School in 2019, holds a BCL from the University of Oxford earned in 2021, and a BA from the University of Toronto, and was called to the Ontario bar in 2020.
