About Deirdre

Deirdre L. Wade is Counsel in Cox & Palmer's Saint John office. She was called to the New Brunswick Bar in 1988 after her education at the University of New Brunswick, and was appointed Queen's Counsel (now King's Counsel) in 2005, joining Cox & Palmer after many years as a partner with the former firm Barry Spalding. Wade's litigation practice emphasizes advising insurers and insureds on coverage and duty to defend issues across commercial general liability, automobile, property, environmental, cyber liability, professional liability and directors and officers liability matters. She has managed the defence of large litigation files, including a products liability case involving more than 100 claimants, and advises professional regulatory bodies on administrative, discipline and registration issues. Wade has appeared before courts throughout Atlantic Canada and chaired the 2020-2024 Judicial Remuneration Commission for New Brunswick's Provincial Court Judges.
