About Erin
Erin Hoops focuses her practice entirely on insurance defence, with substantial experience representing real estate agents, mortgage brokers, engineers and paralegals through their errors and omissions insurers in professional liability disputes. She also handles construction-related matters such as defect claims, delay disputes and contract enforcement, and represents designers, manufacturers and distributors in complex multi-party litigation. Erin has appeared in courts across Ontario, New Brunswick and British Columbia, and has served as independent legal counsel to the Real Estate Council of Ontario, advising during disciplinary hearings, appeals and panel discussions. She earned her J.D. from Osgoode Hall Law School in 2017, an M.A. in Economics from Queen's University in 2014, and a B.A. (Hons.) from Dalhousie University in 2013. She was called to the Ontario bar in 2018 and the British Columbia bar in 2025.
