About Darren
Darren Avery is a partner whose work spans labour and employment law broadly, including litigation in that area, with particular attention to occupational health and safety matters. He helps clients deal with regulators and enforcement agencies, reviewing orders, working toward compliance with legislation, and appealing orders where needed, and he advises on joint health and safety committees, critical injuries, and workplace violence and harassment issues. Darren defends employers, corporations, and individuals facing charges tied to workplace incidents such as injuries and fatalities, situations that can carry significant fines or even imprisonment. His clients range from small family-owned businesses to multinational corporations, along with public sector clients such as hospitals, municipalities, and post-secondary institutions. He studied at the University of Ottawa and at King's University College at Western, and was called to Ontario's bar in 2017.
