Allison Johnstone

About Allison

Allison is an associate at Johnstone & Cowling LLP who practices across the full range of labour and employment law, with particular experience in police disciplinary matters and human rights cases. She acts as a prosecutor under the Police Services Act and appears at arbitration hearings and before the Human Rights Tribunal, the Workplace Safety and Insurance Appeals Tribunal, and the Ontario Civilian Police Commission. She holds a Master of Laws from Cornell Law School, where she concentrated on human rights and graduated with honours in 2017, and served as secretary of the LL.M. Association there. Allison earned her Juris Doctor from the University of Windsor in 2016, receiving the top grade in her Criminal Law class. As a research assistant at Western, she contributed to the Dutee Chand decision at the Court of Arbitration for Sport and to an investigative report for the World Anti-Doping Agency involving Russian athletes.
