About Dan

Dan Simmons, KC, is a partner in the firm's St. John's office, practising civil litigation, class actions, administrative law and employment law, with experience in construction, industrial and technical disputes. He has represented clients before Commissions of Inquiry in Newfoundland and Labrador concerning cancer testing errors and offshore helicopter safety, and worked on a national class action seeking compensation for institutional child abuse. Dan was inducted as a fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers in 2017. He earned his LL.B. from Dalhousie University in 1982 and was called to the Newfoundland and Labrador bar in 1983.
