About Ian

Ian's practice covers personal injury, civil litigation, labour and employment law, real estate, wills and estates, and criminal law. He has appeared before arbitration panels and all levels of court in the province, as well as the Federal Court Trial Division. Ian holds a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) from Memorial University of Newfoundland and a Bachelor of Laws from the University of New Brunswick, and was called to the Newfoundland and Labrador bar in 2001. He was appointed King's Counsel in 2025. Ian has served as president of the Law Society of Newfoundland and Labrador, sits on the Federation of Law Societies of Canada's council, and is president of the Rotary Club of Avalon Northeast.
