About Dan
Dan H. Berger is a partner at Green & Spiegel U.S., leading the firm's Academic and Medical Immigration Team from its Northampton, Massachusetts office. He is an Academic Fellow at Cornell Law School and sits on advisory boards for the Presidents' Alliance on Immigration and Higher Education and the Congressional Coalition on Adoption Institute. Dan has a particular focus on DACA and undocumented students, advising thedream.us scholarship fund and co-founding a DACA clinic at Cornell centered on employment-based options. He helped lead a pilot program under a presidential waiver initiative allowing Dreamers to move into status through employer sponsorship, and was invited to the White House in recognition of that work. He studied immigration history at Harvard College, graduating in 1989, and earned his JD from Cornell Law School in 1996. Dan has practiced immigration law for more than 25 years and received AILA's President's Commendation in 2023.
