About Vanessa

Vanessa Paliotti is a partner at Grey Casgrain. She completed her civil law degree at the University of Ottawa and received a Bachelor's in North American Law from the Université de Montréal in 2015-16, where she won the Bohémier-Ferland Award for Excellence in Ethics and Professionalism. She articled in Oakville, Ontario, in litigation, estate resolution, trusts and wills, and has been a member of the Ontario Bar since June 2018 and the Quebec Bar since March 2019. Her practice covers immigration and refugee law, including cases before the Immigration and Refugee Board, the Immigration Appeal Division and the Federal Court, as well as sponsorship and humanitarian applications. She was lead counsel in Karounis et al. v. the Attorney General of Quebec, representing parents challenging restrictions on distance learning during the pandemic, and is currently involved in a constitutional challenge to provisions of Quebec's Bill 96.
