Julius Grey founded Grey Casgrain in the fall of 1976 and has practised law in Quebec for more than 50 years. He was admitted to the Quebec Bar in 1974 and holds degrees from McGill University and Oxford University. He was a member of McGill's Faculty of Law from 1977 to 2002 and has also taught at the Université de Montréal and the Canadian Human Rights School. He has argued before the Supreme Court of Canada more than 50 times, including the 2021 case of Ward v. Quebec, and received the Barreau du Québec Medal in 2004 for his career. He has published extensively, including the books 'The Ideology of Capitalism' and 'Capitalism and the Alternatives', and speaks regularly at legal, academic and public events.
