About Niall

Niall Clapham Ricardo practises in civil, administrative, constitutional and criminal defence litigation at Grey Casgrain. His approach draws on a background in law, sociology and political science and a longstanding commitment to social justice and human rights. He is completing a Master's degree in International Law at UQAM, focusing on Impact and Benefit Agreements between resource companies and First Nations, Inuit and Métis communities. His work has been recognized with the Dominique Larochelle Prize in Human Rights Defense (2023) and the Natacha Binsse-Masse Prize (2025). He has also been active in political and community life, including as a federal candidate for the New Democratic Party in Papineau and in advocacy on criminal justice reform and Indigenous rights.
