About Susan

Susan Fridlyand's practice covers litigation, Aboriginal, environmental, and regulatory law, with practice areas including Aboriginal and treaty rights, Aboriginal title, commercial litigation, consultation and accommodation, and strategic reconciliation planning, and a particular commitment to environmental sustainability, conservation, and improving conditions for Indigenous peoples. Before joining Woodward & Company in 2023, she summered, articled, and worked as an associate at a full-service global law firm in Toronto, Ontario, and during law school participated in the Willms and Shier Environmental Law Moot and co-led the Environmental Law Working Group for the David Asper Centre for Constitutional Rights. She holds a Bachelor of Business Administration, with a minor in psychology, from Wilfrid Laurier University, graduating with high honours, and a law degree from the University of Toronto. Originally from Ontario, she was first called to the bar in Ontario in 2019 and then in British Columbia in 2023, and is a member of the Law Societies of Ontario, British Columbia, and the Northwest Territories, the Victoria Bar Association, the Canadian Bar Association, and the Advocates' Society.
