About Alexa
Alexa Powell's core practice areas include environmental and regulatory law, governance, lands, and Aboriginal rights and title, along with corporate and commercial law, employment and human rights, and wills and estates. She earned a BA in political science and environmental studies and a JD with a concentration in environmental law and sustainability, both from the University of Victoria, and received the James H.C. Walker Memorial Prize in Environmental Law during law school. She completed clinical terms at the UVic Law Centre and the Environmental Law Centre, providing pro bono legal advice, and also served as a co-op student and board member at the Environmental Law Centre. Originally from Vancouver, she was called to the BC Bar in 2022 and became a member of the Law Society of Alberta in 2023, and has practiced at Woodward & Company since 2022.
