Murphy practices Aboriginal rights and title, the duty to consult and accommodate, the Crown's obligations to First Nations, and treaty rights and negotiation, combining litigation, negotiation, and advocacy toward reconciliation. She was lead counsel in Cowichan Tribes v Canada (Attorney General), 2025 BCSC 1490, securing recognition of Aboriginal title and fishing rights, and has represented numerous First Nations communities in negotiations and justice matters. She is a member of the Law Society of British Columbia (2011), was a member of the Law Society of Ontario (2016-2019), and joined the Law Society of the Northwest Territories in 2023. She is originally from Anishinaabe and Dakota territory in Minnesota, and is a former treasurer and founding member of the Pandora Park Community Garden.
