About Stephen

Stephen McPhee, K.C. practises family law and family mediation and arbitration, as well as estate and workplace mediation generally, and has appeared at all levels of court in British Columbia. He handles complex financial separations and high-conflict custody disputes, and has been appointed by the Supreme Court of BC as a Children's Lawyer to advocate for children in family disputes. He is a Law Society of BC accredited Family Mediator and Arbitrator and a Mediate BC Roster mediator, and served as President of the BC Branch of the Canadian Bar Association from 2010 to 2011. He holds a Bachelor of Laws from the University of Stellenbosch, South Africa, was called to the bar there in 1997 and to the British Columbia Bar in 2002, and was appointed Queen's Counsel in 2011. He is fluent in Afrikaans in addition to English.
