About Doug

Doug Nuyts is an experienced litigator who was a sole practitioner for 10 years in Richmond, BC, with a general practice that increasingly featured ICBC plaintiff files. In 1993, ICBC hired him in-house as defence counsel in its New Westminster office, promoting him into its regional department in 1996. In 1997 he moved to Nanaimo to open the ICBC Mid-Island litigation office, doing litigation exclusively for ICBC, including jury trials and appeals, until his retirement from ICBC in 2012. He then joined John Davis's practice in Parksville as trial counsel, and in 2020 he and Davis joined Marshall & Lamperson. Since joining the firm he has gradually transitioned into family law, estate litigation, and general solicitor work, and works out of the Qualicum Beach office.
