About Stephanie
Stephanie Axmann's solicitor practice focuses primarily on First Nations economic development and commercial transactions, governance, and natural resource, environmental, and regulatory matters, driven to support community and economic prosperity and land and environmental stewardship on Indigenous clients' own terms. She was legal counsel in the BC Ministry of Attorney General, advising on Indigenous legal relations matters spanning forests, lands, mining, energy, transportation, environment, and reconciliation, and developed an Aboriginal law practice at a leading national firm in Vancouver, where she held a key leadership role. She holds an undergraduate degree from McGill University, with first class honours in international development studies, and a law degree from Dalhousie University, graduating on the Dean's List, and received the McCarthy Tétrault Leadership Award and the Nova Scotia Barristers' Society Prize for academic achievement. She was called to the BC Bar in 2009 and has been recognized multiple times in Chambers Canada and The Legal 500 - Canada for her Aboriginal law work.
