About Claire
Claire Truesdale is a partner at JFK Law's Vancouver office practising Aboriginal, environmental, and constitutional law, with a focus on litigation, modern treaty negotiation, and Indian registration. She has appeared at the Specific Claims Tribunal and courts across British Columbia, Alberta, and Saskatchewan, and at the Federal Court and Supreme Court of Canada, including as intervener counsel at the Supreme Court four times. Before joining JFK, Claire clerked at the Ontario Court of Appeal and assisted Justice Harry LaForme, the first Indigenous person appointed to a Canadian appellate court. She earned her J.D. from the University of Victoria in 2012 and a B.A. from Simon Fraser University in 2008, and was called to the Alberta Bar in 2018 and the British Columbia and Ontario bars in 2013. Claire is a past chair of the Aboriginal Law Section of the Canadian Bar Association.
