About Sophia Starcevic

Sophia Starcevic helps people and companies with property deals, both residential and commercial, and with the legal side of owning a business. That second half covers setting up and incorporating a company, buying or selling one, restructuring, and putting contracts together or reviewing them. Some clients are just getting a venture started, while others run businesses that are well established, and Sophia aims to give practical advice built around each client’s goals.

Sophia came to GGFI Law as an associate in December 2025, bringing several years of practice since being called to the Ontario bar in 2020. Before joining GGFI Law, Sophia was an associate in the business, corporate and commercial group at George Street Law Group LLP in Hamilton, where the work included writing articles on keeping a corporate minute book and on personal real estate corporations.

Hamilton is home turf: Sophia was born and raised in the area and did an honours undergraduate degree in political science and philosophy at McMaster before heading to the United Kingdom to earn an LL.B. at the University of Birmingham.

When the workday's done, Sophia likes keeping active, whether that means a long walk with the dog or a round of golf, with results that vary. Getting to know unfamiliar cities, and tracking down the restaurants locals love most, is another favourite pastime.
