Civil Litigation & Dispute ResolutionCarly Bauman became an associate lawyer with Giesbrecht, Griffin, Funk & Irvine in 2020, having earlier worked at the firm as a summer student and then as an articling student. Her practice covers family law, real estate, estate planning, civil litigation, and fertility law. She holds an honours degree from the University of Toronto, where she studied political science, religion, and women and gender studies with high distinction, and a J.D. from the University of Ottawa, which she completed in 2019 graduating magna cum laude. While in law school she competed in the Nelligan O'Brien Payne Moot Court Competition, took part in the Women's Legal Mentorship Program, and gave her time to the National Council of Canadian Muslims as part of Pro Bono Students Canada. During her articles, she volunteered with the Mennonite Central Committee's Refugee Division, assisting people seeking refugee status in Canada. Carly belongs to the Canadian Bar Association, the Waterloo Law Association, and the K-W Business Women's Association.
