About Carly Bauman

Carly Bauman is an associate at GGFI Law LLP who helps clients with family law, real estate, estate planning and civil litigation. Carly's practice also takes in fertility law.

During law school, Carly worked with the GGFI team as a summer student and then as an articling student, and joined the firm as an associate in 2020. Carly earned a Juris Doctor from the University of Ottawa in 2019, graduating magna cum laude, and received the Stikeman Elliott LLP Scholarship and the Blake, Cassels & Graydon LLP Scholarship for academic excellence.

While at law school, Carly worked through Pro Bono Students Canada, giving legal support to people facing discrimination as a volunteer with the National Council of Canadian Muslims. During articling, Carly volunteered with the refugee division of the Mennonite Central Committee of Canada, advising and supporting people who were trying to gain refugee status here. Law school also meant mooting in the Nelligan O’Brien Payne competition and active involvement in the Women’s Legal Mentorship Program.

Before law school, Carly earned an honours Bachelor of Arts with high distinction from the University of Toronto in 2016, concentrating on women and gender studies, religion and political science. Away from work, there's a good chance you'll find Carly with a book, out trying Kitchener-Waterloo's shops and restaurants, or with family.
