Jennifer's legal career started in Trinidad and Tobago, with a call to the bar there in 2007, and the Ontario call followed in 2019. Both law degrees, an honours LL.B. and then a master's in corporate and commercial law, came from the University of the West Indies.

Outside the office, Jennifer volunteers with the Ontario Justice Education Network's Braiding Justice Into Diversity (Waterloo) program, which promotes legal education and introduces young women from marginalised backgrounds to people working in law. Jennifer also sits on the board of oneROOF Youth Services, a Kitchener non-profit, and cares a lot about mentoring and backing communities that are having a hard time in Kitchener-Waterloo. Born in Toronto and schooled in Trinidad and Tobago, Jennifer now makes a home in Kitchener and likes quiet weekends with a spouse and children.
