About Richard

Richard Wolson practises criminal defence in Winnipeg and is a founding principal of WRRW, previously of Gindin Wolson Simmonds Roitenberg. With about 49 years in practice, he has represented clients across nearly every Canadian province and served as lead commission counsel in the Schreiber-Mulroney inquiry and the inquiry into the wrongful conviction of Thomas Sophonow. He has lectured on criminal law for more than 20 years, including two decades with the National Criminal Law Program, and has authored and co-authored several pieces on the subject. Wolson has received the Criminal Defence Lawyers Association of Manitoba's Award of Merit and has been named Lawyer of the Year multiple times by Best Lawyers in Canada. He was appointed King's Counsel and serves as Regional Chair of the Supreme Court Advocacy Institute.
