Intellectual PropertyPat Flaherty co-founded Chernos Flaherty Svonkin LLP alongside David Chernos and Stuart Svonkin. He maintains a broad civil litigation practice touching class action defence, privacy, product liability, intellectual property, corporate and commercial disputes, securities litigation, and international arbitration. Before starting the firm, he spent more than twenty years at Torys LLP in Toronto, the final fourteen as a partner. Pat has appeared before every level of court in Ontario and in the Federal Court of Canada, with extensive trial experience and work as counsel in domestic and international arbitrations across Canada, the United States, Europe, and Asia. He also acts as an arbitrator, regularly serving as panelist for domain name disputes overseen by the Canadian Internet Registration Authority. He was called to the Ontario bar in 1993, after earning his JD from Queen's University in 1991 and a BA from the University of Toronto in 1988.
