Wills, Estates & TrustsDavid Chernos co-founded Chernos Flaherty Svonkin LLP with Pat Flaherty and Stuart Svonkin, after more than twenty years at Torys LLP in Toronto, most of it as a partner. David's practice covers corporate and commercial litigation, with particular emphasis on shareholder disputes involving family and closely held companies, insolvency and corporate restructuring, income tax, and directors', officers', and professional liability. David also has broad experience in estates and trust litigation, having acted for trustees, beneficiaries, and Ontario's Office of the Children's Lawyer, and has appeared as lead counsel before Ontario trial courts, the Ontario Court of Appeal, the Supreme Court of Canada, and the Tax Court of Canada. Called to the Ontario bar in 1993, David holds a law degree from Queen's University and a BA from the University of Toronto.
